The Cosmic Hologram and Indra’s Net

Ontological Mathematics Perspective:

  • The universe is a Fourier hologram generated by monads’ collective frequency interactions:
ℱ{f(x)}=∫−∞∞f(x)e−2πiξxdx\mathcal{F}\{f(x)\} = \int_{-\infty}^{\infty} f(x) e^{-2\pi i \xi x}\,dx

In a nutshell:

  • In essence, this formula tells us how to decompose a function into its frequency components—like breaking a piece of music into its notes. In the context of ontological mathematics, the universe as we know it is a projection (hologram) from the frequency interactions of monads.

Explanation:

  • This equation is called the Fourier transform. It translates information between the “spatial” or “time” domain and the “frequency” domain.
  • ℱ{f(x)}\mathcal{F}\{f(x)\} (pronounced “script F of f of x”) means “the Fourier transform of f(x)f(x).”
  • f(x)f(x) is a function of xx, which can represent position or time.
  • The integral sign ∫−∞∞\int_{-\infty}^{\infty} means you are summing (integrating) over all xx from negative infinity to positive infinity.
  • ee is Euler’s number, as above.
  • π\pi (Greek letter “pi”, pronounced “pie”) is about 3.14159.
  • ii is the imaginary unit.
  • ξ\xi (Greek letter “xi”, pronounced “ksee”) stands for frequency.
  • dxdx means you are integrating with respect to xx.
  • The term e−2πiξxe^{-2\pi i \xi x} is a complex exponential, which encodes oscillations at frequency ξ\xi.

Spacetime is thus an emergent projection, akin to a “shared dream”.

Eastern Parallel:

Buddhist cosmology describes reality as Indra’s Net: a web of jewels reflecting each other infinitely. Each jewel (monad) contains the whole, echoing the holographic principle.

Daoist Yin-Yang duality also resonates here: Euler’s Formula balances real (cos⁡θ\cos\theta) and imaginary (isin⁡θi\sin\theta) components, analogous to complementary opposites in Daoism.
